Target Field Sports
Pigeons in with a sporting chance!
Exceptional tuition, competiton and 'Have a Go' sessions at every country fair. Target field sports are fun and waiting to be enjoyed!
Target Field Sports are traditionally associated with hunting and pest control, although nowadays, the sports are mostly done for fun.
At Living Heritage Game and Country Fairs, visitors are welcome to come have have a go at all of the target sports on the day. As well as beginners, the more experienced can enter a series of competitions. (see local press for details)

Adrian hits the target!
Field Archery is a modern version of an ancient art - meeting somewhere between golf and darts!
ACA is a Coaching and Entertainment group and offers show visitors the chance to use superbly built compound bows with sights, stabilisers and carbon fibre arrows. Targets include traditional circular faces., balloons and 3-D Field archery targets from Rinehart USA - including a realistic dinosaur.
All bows are comfortable to draw and require no brute strength to enjoy accurate shooting fun. The stand is run by a fully qualified NFAS Coach who will be happy to offer advice and Field Archery Club access tips throughout the show.

Clay Pigeon Shooting is a thrilling experience, demanding calm concentration, a keen eye and quick reactions. Perfect your aim and shots and soon you will be notching up your 'kills'.
Of course, these are not real birds and no one gets hurt, making it a great sport for all - young and old, men and women alike. Why not find out if you have what it takes on the 'Have a Go' stand and see if you can become a crack marksman in one of Britain's fastest growing sports.

Airguns at the ready!
Airgun target shooting (air gunning) is a popular sport and pastime, which is well regarded within country life and its pursuits.
As popular as airguns are at target ranges and competitions, they are sometimes used as an effective pest control as well.
The best tuition, coaching and advice for target sports is available at the fairs in 2011.

Muzzles loaded
Beautiful muzzle loading guns are at fairs this year, with experts on hand from the MLAGB ready to tell the story of their history. Another chance to learn about a piece of British country heritage.
The MLAGB was formed in 1952 and is the governing body for muzzle loading within the UK. Its objectives are to encourage an interest in muzzle loading firearms, to promote, regulate and safeguard their use and to preserve the freedom to collect them.
The MLAGB has a number of clubs and societies affiliated to it where advice and training is readily available.

At shows this year, visitors can see a shot gun safety arena demonstration. It is a light hearted, entertaining display for all the family and promotes all aspects of gun safety.
